Spring Springing and Singing in full Swinging

Let's talk about sunshine, warm weather, and the end of the school year--

We'll call it spring--

We can only talk for a minute, because that's how long spring lasts in Idaho.

Hurry!

Bogey and Double Bogey celebrated another birthday.  They wanted bikes or electric scooters.

They've wanted bikes every year for about 3 years, but Ace and I have trust issues with these boys.

We calculated ride time on the scooter and figured they could get to Maverik and back, and we thought that would be nice in the event neither one of us felt like going there but needed a drink.  Ha!  However, the busy road to get to Mav was concerning, so that was a strike against the scooters.

When we thought about the bikes, we calculated ride time, plus attention span, divided by motivation, minus endurance, and figured they'd maybe get around the block.  So, we went with the bikes.  They started out with training wheels (which according to Bogey was "Awkward".  Because, a first grader?  With training wheels?   Apparently that's a no go.) but it didn't take them long to get those things off and ride like the wind.

The end of the school year brought with it preparation for the 6th grade track meet.  I volunteered to help out and at the end of the school day I'd go run a lap with the distance runners, or I'd time the sprinters, or throw frisbees and softballs.  The best part about it is that Slice got to roam free in the school yard and the 6th graders that weren't busy played with her.  Her big brother even picked dandelions for her.  Sweetest brother ever.  Slice loves Mulligan.

Unfortunately, the spring stint didn't last long enough to be conducive for the actual meet.  It was too cold and rainy for the 6th graders to run, so they cancelled the meets.  Sad.  Mulligan would have done awesome.

Bogey and Double Bogey performed in a cute little first grade concert.  They sung their little hearts out and were the cutest boys there.  I love them and love that they are growing up!

Mulligan and Birdie hung with the Bush Bronco Singers ("For the Thomas cash."--Mulligan) for another semester and their spring concert was lovely.  They just sang their little hearts out too.   Luckily I knew a few of the songs they were singing so I could sing along in the crowd, and bust out a few dance moves from my chair as well.  Lucky kids.
