Pretty Busy

I was about to fly home yesterday, but no oxygen tanks are allowed on the airplane, and well, oxygen concentrators are hard to come by.  So, here I sit in my 8x8 at the RMD.  Don’t get me wrong, I’m not complaining, I’m just super super homesick for my kids.

Gimme is going to cheer camp this week and she is performing at half time of the football game tomorrow.  I wish I were there to see her.  Ace is going to try and Skype me in.  I hope it works.  I am a little nervous that she is loving cheer camp so much.  When I talked to her on the phone, she was reciting some of the cheers she has learned.  I wish she knew her spelling words that well.  Clearly, when I come home, I’m going to have to find her basketball (that SHE got for Christmas) and have it out to serve as a reminder that she loved basketball first.

Mulligan no longer hates kindergarten.  I hope it’s because he’s made a few friends that he plays super hero’s and soccer with at recess and not so much the little girl that squeezes herself next to him in line every day.  I think he remembers the lessons we’ve taught him about girls and their cooties.

Birdie loves going to her preschool and when I talked to her on the phone, she let me know she missed me, but that she was still drinking pop…grandpa’s pop…So, I guess that’s good for me…that’s less I have to share when I get home.

Double Bogey went to his 6 month check up today.  I didn’t get the full report yet, but something about his hip socket possibly being shallow, and having that checked next Tuesday via ultrasound.  Don’t worry.  I’ve already browsed the internet.  I’m in a full panic.

Bogey is gearing up for surgery next week.  In the meantime, we’ve been out and about.

Before Ace left to go back home, we met up with his brother and his family who were in the area for a wedding.  It had been way too long since I had seen them.

...And we’ve been running.  They say, the air is easier to breathe in CA because of sea level or whatever…I disagree.  The second I took off on a jog, I was out of breath, just as I was when I tried to run around the river a few weeks ago in Idaho Falls.  I’m sure it has nothing to do with the kind of shape I’m in.

We went to Target today.  I was super excited to spend the day there, not because I am a huge shopper, but because there were free refills on the Diet Coke I bought.  My enthusiasm was somewhat diminished however when I was informed of an earthquake drill that would be happening in 4 minutes and was handed this piece of paper:

As you might imagine, my little mind had all kinds of scenarios kicking around in an instant, so with one last refill, we headed out to the car and are now hunkered down at the RMD trying to muster up some courage for some kind of outing tomorrow.

If I’m not too busy, I’ll let everyone know how that turns out.

Oh Rachelle- I have to slightly laugh about cheer camp...:) Please forgive me:) I'm sure she will follow in her mommas footsteps and become a phenominal bball player ! Maybe my girls can cheer her on someday! If my husband caves that is- he's a bit anti-cheerleading as well:) Hope all goes well in your continued journey...
