Love thy Neighbor...

My parents have some great neighbors.  My kids and their kids are all about the same age, which is perfect when it comes to play time!  There have been having swimming parties, trampoline parties, diary parties (they all write in their diaries...I guess it's a girl thing...??) etc.  I don't know that my kids have even noticed that I have been so occupied with doctor visits, hospital stays, and medical mumbo jumbo.  I am so relieved to know that my kids are associating with great kids who set such a good example.  I know I don't have to worry about them!  It's awesome!

Tomorrow, Ace, Bogey and I will embark on our toughest journey.  We are headed to Stanford for Bogey's big surgery.  He has a couple of pre-op procedures (cardiac caths, ECHO's EKG's, etc.) Thursday and Friday, and then on Wednesday May 30, Dr. Hanley (a.k.a. Mighty Stanford) will perform an open heart unifocalization (just in case anyone wants to Google what goes on...) surgery.  To say I'm a nervous wreck would be an understatement.  However, after referring to my last post (who knew I would need to read that as a refresher so soon? ;) I know that Bogey will be taken care of.  Things have rapidly fallen into place in order for this surgery to take place.

We need prayers.  If you aren't the praying type, will you be for a day or so?  Bogey needs all the faith and prayers he can get.  (oh, and so does his momma!)  We trust that he is receiving the best care possible, and we continue to pray for Dr. Hanley that he will be able to correct Bogey's condition.

We will do our best to keep everyone updated through this blog as the next month unfolds.

Yay for good neighbors! That is a blessing that your kids haven't noticed your "absence".
Good luck on the surgery; I can only imagine. You, Bogey and Dr. Hanley will be in my prayers!

Rachelle,
I'm not sure if you remember me, and if you do, I'm not sure I want you to remember me exactly the way I was in high school. I've repented, I can assure you. : ) Anyways, I came across your blog today and I hope you know you can add me to the list of those already praying for your little guy and your family. I remember you and Kimball : ) so fondly and I still remember how you made me laugh because you are so darn funny.
Lots of love,
Janalyn (Hendricks) Owens
P.S. I have a blog too, it's a private one. I can add you anytime if you want to catch up.
Although I know that you are a busy mom right now so it won't hurt my feelings if you can't!

I did google it. Sounds like your little guy is in good hands with Dr. Hanley. So glad he's dedicated his life to helping heal the heart!
