Since it’s spring break and we’re having all of this nice spring rainy, cold weather
I’ve been trying to keep myself busy inside with whatever projects I can come up with…or that Pinterest can come up with, I mean.
Drum Roll Please….Yesterday’s feat:
The Crib. (Yeah, gonna need a mattress for this one…)
Next time, I think that I’ll go ahead and put my project together wherever I’m going to use it. I put this crib together in the family room and had to remove 2 doors from their hinges to get it into the boys room. (Which apparently, according to Ace I could have easily just tipped the crib on one end to maneuver it down the hall into the bedroom. Too bad my brain doesn’t function like that…I always take the hardest route possible.)
My next project:
General Authority Fun Facts
Because general conference is coming up this weekend, I wanted to get my kids a little bit excited about it. A little while ago, I bought a plastic covering to put on my table and I try to put fun “conversation starters” underneath it to look at and talk about during mealtime. Before the general conference stuff, I had pictures of the kids and their cousins and it was fun to talk about those memories.
Anyway, I looked up a bunch of facts on each of the First Presidency and the Apostles and tried to find a picture to correlate with whatever fun fact or story I could find about these men. I got my information from here. I just kept the information short and simple, in hopes that my kids would remember at least one thing—if it’s just putting a name to a face—from each person.
So far, my kids are loving it! I know it’s mostly because it’s a change of scenery at the table, but also because they see the little pictures and want to know what they’re all about and Gimme loves to read the tidbits to her younger siblings.
We decided that during conference, when one of the Presidency or an Apostle speaks, we are going to listen extra carefully and then draw a picture of what was talked about to be added to our table display.
I learned at a young age to love conference. It was always something I looked forward to (you know, the snacks, the conference packets, etc.). As I have grown, conference has become much more meaningful and it seems that no matter what I’m going though, there’s always a message that stands out, as if that person knew exactly what I was going through, and they knew exactly what I needed to hear.
As usual, I ‘m really looking forward to this weekend and the messages that will be shared.

The crib looks great!! Can't wait to see two little tinies snuggling up in it!! I need to try the Apostles thing. Children are capable of so much more then I think we give their little minds to do. Zach would dig it!
Cute room!!! How much longer do you have? Will your doctor induced you early? I hope so. Hang in there. I can't wait to see them!
I will be stealing this idea! LOVE IT! ( The table project that is)
