Upgrade?

Remember these? >>>

(this is a terrible picture I know. Our cell phone camera is not exactly photographry material.)

It's actually a manual window roller downer thing. I'm not sure the real name for it...I haven't seen or used one of these for about 13 years or so.

Because our van is getting repaired from the "Deer Lodge" incident, our insurance company hooked us up with this car, that doesn't even lock automatically (Shh! Don't tell anyone, but we don't lock the thing because we have to push ALL FOUR LOCKS with our own hands. WAY. TOO. MUCH. WORK.)

Today I went to McDondald's (Hi, my name is Caddie and I have an addiction to Diet Coke. I thought I could quit, but NOPE!) to order my XL Diet Coke, and the drive thru worker was waiting for me.

As I was pumping the window thing to get the window down, getting my workout for the day, I just shouted "I usually drive a van with automatic windows!"

BAM! Put that on a bumper sticker!!

I don't know if I thought the automatic windows or the fact that I usually drive a van, would boost my ratings with the 17 year old drive thru worker, but I had to say something to break the awkward silence of the window sssslllllooooowwwwwlllllyyyy going down.

When I feel pressure, somewhere in my brain something goes awry and I blurt out the most random things.

Thank heaven our van will be fixed early next week. Then the REAL fun begins. If you need me, I'll be cruising 17th street with my windows down--or up--I can change it in a matter of a couple of seconds, with a push of a button!

So, all you cool kids keep your eye out for me!

Hahahaha! I am so glad to hear that I am not the only one who blurts out random things in awkward situations. Oh, and we just got home from being in Idaho Falls for Christmas, too. I should have looked you up. So sorry I missed you.

Ummm, thank you very much, but I have 4 of those wonderful manual rolly downy thingies!!! AND I EVEN have ALL 4 manual locks!! Let me tell you, that is embarassing to ask everyone who gets out of your car to, "Please push the lock!" And I've discovered its an even larger pain to try to unlock the door while holding a carseat!!
So, I think I'm cooler than you! (or is it WAY less cool?!)
