Keep the Change.

As of late, this girl is really making it difficult to be in a bad mood.

For instance, the other morning, we were rushing (I suppose, when I say we, I really just mean, I was rushing...) to get out the door for school.  Little Miss Birdie, was taking her sweet time buttoning up her shirt.  She was having quite a difficult time with the top button.  I told her to just leave it open, and to get her shoes and GET OUT TO THE CAR!

She simply ignored me, and kept working on that button. When I stormed into her room, she took one look at my "angry eyes" and quite frankly said, "Mom. This is my detective shirt. Today I am a detective."

When I asked her why that particular shirt magically turned her into a detective, she pressed both sides of the collar with her fingers, and then carefully touched each button.

Sherlock was trying to figure out why her class wasn't waiting in line when she walked in the doors.  They had already proceeded to begin the day in their classroom.  We were late for the third day of school.

Later that week, she was drinking my Diet Coke (nothing brings out the vengeance, quite like back wash in my Diet Coke).  When I walked into the room and saw her, she set the cup down, slid it across the table and said, "Keep the change you filthy animal!"

Apparently she's watched "Home Alone" a few too many times.
