Before the 4th (which seems like years ago...) my parents came to visit. Birdie had a birthday, so we celebrated with a trip to the zoo. It wasn't really a real zoo though, it only had a few animals...mainly cats...like tigers, lions, cheetahs (I actually don't even know for sure if there was a cheetah there or not, but you get the idea...this place was cat lover's paradise). Needless to say, we were in and out in less than an hour, which was PLENTY of time to see all of the exhibits.
Then, my parents took off to celebrate their 50th Wedding Anniversary! (I don't know why they didn't want to just extend their trip a little bit, I mean really, who wouldn't want to spend their Golden Anniversary at the Linger Longer Lounge or the Tranquility Inn?? Sounds inviting doesn't it?)

And that brings us to the 4th of July. We started the day off with a golf cart parade, then we played with the cousins and finished the day with some booming fireworks. Yes, the Melaleuca Freedom Celebration may be the largest show this side of the Mississippi, but I'm thinking this production comes to a close 2nd...or at least in the top 100... :) We just need to figure out how to sync the music. However, I must say that showing up right at dusk (without staking out a spot earlier in the day) watching the fireworks and then getting home all within an hour is pretty sweet.
...Which now brings us to the present time. All that is left of the summer is Girls Camp (YIKES!!), Hart Family Reunion, Wilhelmsen Family Reunion, and then, *poof* school starts. I can't believe this summer is passing by so fast!
