Mother of the Year...AGAIN!!

Today Gimme graduated from the big Kindergarten. As Mother of the Year, I forgot the camera. No one was here to remind me to take that, so therefore I didn't. I did however get video of everything (well mostly, it took me a few minutes to realize that even though I am seeing things through the lens, unless I push RECORD, I am just on PAUSE, wasting the battery.)

I for one am super glad school is finally out and I don't have to keep adding to Gimme's 22 tardies.

Any questions as to how I received the Mother of the Year award? Well, this next segment should answer them pretty quickly.

I've been stressing lately as I have been thinking about how I am going to survive our big move to Blanchard, because there is not a Wal-Mart or even a Wal-Greens within 30 miles.

Well, today I've been thinking a little differently. We (the kids and I) went to Wal-Mart, and I put some cookies in the cart (after throwing up for 2 days, I was feeling really skinny and felt like I needed to make up for what was lost), and then because Birdie was wandering, I put her in the cart too. She apparently wasn't that pleased so she hurled the cookies out of the cart and the container busted open spilling all but two of the candy covered convections. So because everyone nearby saw that the cookies came from my cart, I had to pick up the pieces. A few excruciating minutes later, I went to pay for my items (even the cookies) and Birdie, sweet little Birdie, chucked the bottle of salsa on the floor, just to see how I would react. Bless her little heart.

Clean up at register 16.

Not to mention that I had one of those HUGE blue two seater carts (that are not made to steer). So, Gimme was doing flips on that bar, like she does on the toys at school, and Mulligan all of the sudden busts out of his shell and is trying to hop from one seat to the other, all the while singing: "Eruption is coming, and coming soon...it's so loud you can hear it from the moon..." Needless to say, the 'once a month' trip to town really isn't sounding so bad after all.

I love it!! I am glad that I am not the only mom who hates taking 3 kids to the store! I am really going to miss having you all next door, but wish you all the best! Jylisha

That is too funny. Believe me I understand what it is to take 4 kids even to the store, 2 of which are in car seats, like they make carts big enough. There is no containing them. We will miss you too.

Ya, once a month would be enough of that for me too!

Man I love your stories, they make me feel a little more normal considering my trips to walmart. Keep them coming!

Don't worry you'll get use to it real quick. I haven't been back to Walmart in about 6 months and I don't miss it at all.

So Erin was having a pretty crappy "mom day" so I read her this story and she couldn't stop laughing so thank you from both of us--and by the way the I only have 6-7 more weeks of this pregnancy (hopefully) but I know it feels like it's been an eternity!!!!!!

If you didn't beat them after that trip, I would CERTAINLY award you "mother of the year" :) I try like my darndest to avoid taking my kids to the grocery store with me. My blood pressure is always 20 points higher by the time I leave!

Good luck with the move :)

Oh my gosh. ROFL! Bummer!!!! If it makes ya feel better, we now live about 45 minutes from Wal-Mart and 20 from Walgreens and we're still surviving.:) Hang in there!

I hope you know that I think you're one of the best Mom's out there! The fact that you can laugh about all the stress says a lot about you. I have a hard time laughing sometimes. Thanks for helping me see humor in being a mother.

your funny. I am so sad, I thought you had moved already! We were in town last week, we could have seen you and your kids. Bummer.Good luck with the move. I hate no Walmart for that very reason, I dunno why but my kids are the worst there!
