Still Got It

Ever since I graduated from high school (a couple years ago it seems), I've had these dreams that I'm playing in a basketball game and I can't jump, or when I shoot a 3-pointer I can't heave the ball far enough. Even 12 years later, Coach Kerry Martin is still frustrated with me and he's hucking dry erase markers across the gym floor, and looking at me with his "angry eyes". One time, in my dream I was pregnant and trying to play and I was begging coach to sub me out, because I didn't want anything to happen to the baby. He just shook his head and told me "it was my choice that I went and got married and pregnant", and that I had to stay in the game.

These dreams seemed so real! I would wake up, not only exhausted, but so frustrated that I couldn't play ball the way I used to!

Well thank goodness for Mulligan.

The other day I was playing in his bedroom on his Little Tykes hoop. He was "rebounding" for me and I gotta be honest, I don't know why those dreams haunt me, because I couldn't miss! :) The 3 ft hoop was good to me. Every time I made the basket (outside the 5 ft radius "3-point line") Mulligan would shout, "Whoo Hoo Mom! You still got it!"

Man I love that kid.

That is so funny. Seriously funny stuff. You oughta sign yourself up for a 3 pt. contest or something. Just make sure it's one that lets you bring your own hoop.

lol!!!! Ah, the memories!!! I have dreams like that too, but they are usually about me missing class or not handing in my homework. Yes, I am still the bookworm nerd. Some things never change.

Merry Christmas!!!!
